Aaron Brengard (@brengard) is the principal of Katherine Smith School, a P21 Exemplar and New Tech Network elementary school in the Evergreen School District in San Jose, California. Brengard led the implementation of project-based learning to reinvent this traditional, public, neighborhood school into an innovative 21st century learning environment. When not leading a school, he regularly contributes to the P21 Blogazine and recently published a chapter about Katherine Smith in Connecting the Dots: Teacher Effectiveness and Deeper Professional Learning (Solution Tree, 2015).

Brengard is a strong advocate for bringing innovative learning approaches to underserved populations and in 2014 was named Principal of the Year by the San Jose Silicone Valley Chamber of Commerce.
