Initial Lead Evaluator Training
(including independent evaluators)

This training is for administrators who have not been previously trained. The training will include all of the state-prescribed components and is appropriate for independent evaluators, as well. The goal is to provide training that emphasizes growth producing feedback. In addition to all course materials, participants will receive a copy of Kim Marshall's Rethinking Teacher Supervision and Evaluation. (register)

Ongoing Lead Evaluator Training

This training is for administrators who have previously participated in Lead Evaluator Training. The training will continue with all of the state-prescribed components as well as implementation and management of the new APPR system, growth-producing feedback, and instructional leadership. Attention will be paid to inter-rater agreement and reliability using both the NYSUT and Danielson rubrics. There is no charge to OCM BOCES component districts.

Three sessions are scheduled during the year: November, January, and March. Enrollment in these sessions should constitute good faith evidence of training if a district is applying for a 3012-d hardship waiver.

Participants attend ONE session listed from each cluster of sessions. As always, participants are free to attend any of the sessions. This page lists all of the sessions and is where resources will be archived when the training begins.

Catch-Up with the
Principal Evaluator Training Refresher

This training is for administrators who will be supervising principals who have not been previously trained (or who want a refresher). The training will address all of the state-prescribed components with a particular focus on coaching principals as they lead the new APPR system in their building. Attention will also be paid to school visits and growth-producing feedback. There is no charge to OCM BOCES component districts.

Ongoing Principal Evaluator Training

Ongoing training for supervisors of principals will be aligned with APPR 3012-c and d. All of these sessions are scheduled to follow CSA meetings. These sessions will focus on evaluation training (click here to register for all three sessions):
