Mark Ray

Mark Ray was instrumental in transforming libraries into a proactive force for technological innovation in Vancouver Schools. Mark was named a National School Boards Association “20 to Watch” honoree in 2015 largely because of his exceptional work on 1:1 device programs, professional development, digital learning and redefining teacher librarian practices. For 20 years, Mark was a teacher librarian and instructional technology facilitator. In 2012, he received the Washington State Teacher of the Year Award.

Because of his experiences with technology, libraries and teaching, Mark has been able to “connect the dots” to make sure librarians can help students, teachers and systems navigate the digital shift. Early success stories have been featured by Digital Promise, the U.S. Department of Education, Education Week and School Administrator. As a national advocate for libraries, he has been active with Project Connect and more recently worked with the U.S. Department of Education and Alliance for Excellent Education.
